Best Habitation Bar Stool Makeover - From Modern To Rustic Industrial

Hi everyone!
Thanks thus much for all your sugariness comments on the kitchen isle makeover. I actually similar the novel color, thus bright.
However, similar inward most updates, the domino number has simply started. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about, y'all alter a unmarried matter inward i room in addition to thus somehow many other things laid about screaming for change. :/

The icon exhibit below is how the isle in addition to the stools looked before. It's difficult to imagine almost 5 years receive got passed since that update! At the fourth dimension I was going for a modern look, using lots of dark in addition to white items in addition to of course, modern looking furniture. I yell back buying this fix of stools because they were real inexpensive (the kitchen reno had taken all the savings), in addition to because my kids actually wanted to receive got stools where they could become circular in addition to circular in addition to upward in addition to down. For less than $70/pair I got them at Amazon -a proficient price, in addition to hey, they nevertheless business office real well.

But, man child oh boy, my gustatory modality has changed, thank y'all inward constituent to the many blogs I follow. ;)
When I placed the modern stools inward front end of my newly painted isle they didn't become likewise well.

I brought the other fix of stools I have, the java painted bar-stools, they looked much improve but nevertheless non quite right.

That's when I decided to alter the trend on those modern bar stools, in addition to this is how it all went:

Using the circular top of the stools every bit a template (12" diameter), 2 circles were traced on a slice of plywood. You tin give the sack role a jig-saw to cutting the circles out, I used my Rockwell BladeRunner.

The thickness in addition to hold off of the plywood was non what I was going for (by the agency it's non fifty-fifty plywood is a remnant slice of the underlayment I bought for the kitchen scheme projection HERE), I wanted the stools to receive got a thick circular seat.

I got 1 x 5 in addition to 1 x vi pino in addition to poplar pieces from my fleck pile, they were cutting to size...

And the plywood circles were brought, placed on top of each fix of boards in addition to traced around.

Then, using the Kreg Jig, steal holes were done to screw the pieces together, role mucilage inward betwixt the boards.

After cutting out the novel set, both circles were glued together in addition to 5 - 1¼" screws were driven from the bottom up.

Sanding is a necessity, y'all tin give the sack encounter the difference.

Even though, Thompson's WaterSeal Wood Stain- spray is recommended for outdoor projects, I simply beloved it for everything wood! Beautiful mahogany color amongst simply 2 sprays.

The metallic constituent or base of operations was sanded in addition to spray painted amongst Rust-Oleum Hammered -Brown in addition to the connecting pieces were spray painted black.

After sad the wood, this is how they exhibit that one-time industrial look.

Little specks were added to the metallic constituent amongst the dark spray paint.

I'll continue y'all posted on how the pigment holds, particularly on the feet rests.

I mean value this novel fix goes agency improve amongst the kitchen island, don't y'all agree?

Hmmm  stay tuned because there's nevertheless to a greater extent than to the domino effect. ;)
