I'm all the same working on the modest bath my kids use. Updating it without spending much money.
I already updated the vanity, you lot tin give the axe cheque it right HERE, too I covered that plainly tub amongst a woods panel to arrive await agency better, cheque that HERE.
Lately I've seen tons of beautiful designs on walls, thence I see the wall behind the door would practise goodness from 1 of those designs. This is the 1 I chose, fun too simple:

Since I was non going to purchase the stencil I laid to practise my template.
1. Using a poster board I began drawing on the dorsum of it circles. I used a plate, too drew the firstly circle on a corner of the poster board (fig. 1 ), thence I continued drawing too connecting circles every bit you lot encounter inwards fig. 2.
2. Another circle was depict inwards the middle of them ( fig. 3), creating the basic design.
3. Using a foursquare ruler I drew conduct lines throughout the middle of the circles (fig. 4), doing it both ways (fig. 5), that helped me to locomote along drawing perfectly aligned circles.
4. I cutting the poster board to discard pieces that didn't bring perfectly total or one-half circles (fig.6,7).
5. Now it was time to cutting amongst the utility knife. I cutting the figure within each circle, making certain non to become all the agency to the corners (fig. 8). Do non discard the cutting out pieces yet, afterward on you lot are going to need some of them.
6. I did non cutting throughout the pattern at both ends to hold the stencil sturdier (fig. 9). The diameter of each circle was 8-inches (fig. 10).
7. With the stencil gear upwards it was fourth dimension to depict the pattern onto the wall. I began at the laissez passer on left corner (fig. 11), continuing correct too down, making certain it was level. I used a pencil exactly its amend to piece of employment a color pen that matches the color of pigment you're going to piece of employment to pigment the design.
8. With the cutting out pieces it was easier to describe around those difficult to hit places too corners (fig. 13).
9. I was unsure of what color to use, I painted my 3 options too settle onto the left one, metallic element gray on grey. Fig. 14. ( Even though I did painted my choices on the wall, it's non a adept idea! I had a difficult fourth dimension roofing the ones that were non chosen!)
10. I used FolkArt arts and crafts pigment Metallic Gunmetal Gray, it worked amend for me using a apartment angled artist's paintbrush (Fig. 15).
11. I lay painter's record all around the expanse to hold out painted.
Then I had to paint, too paint, too paint!!! Believe me I am a really patient mortal piece doing something similar this, exactly past times the fourth dimension I was inwards the middle of it I was non happy :/
Total icon time: 10 long hours!!! Thanks goodness it was a modest wall! At the get-go I was thinking of applying ii coats exactly after my 3rd hr of icon I knew that was it!! I was non going to practise a instant coat. period! You tin give the axe encounter my "when am I going to finish?" aspect upwards (fig.16)! too that was the beginning!
Well, I similar how it turned out, exactly I wonder if it was all worth it!
Spending $40 summation S&H or pass 10 hours of icon amongst a really sore wrist?! What practise you lot think?
I need to spruce it upwards a litte bit, that's going to hold out until adjacent time!
