It's taking me forever to consummate this room but, it's almost done.
I'm slow...
And most of the fourth dimension I'm working on thus many unlike things at the same fourth dimension that I simply can't assistance it.
It goes really s-l-o-w-l-y.

Like... giving the ceiling iii coats of paint, or
Sanding the walls because the previous pattern left simply about marks on it, or
Applying ii coats of primer to those walls earlier applying ii coats of paint, or
Installing window trim...
Yeah, those are the things that had to live done too they conduct maintain lots of fourth dimension from the solely 1 mortal that also has lots of other materials to do.
OK, let's halt the complaining -
The lastly projection tackled inwards this room was the floor. Plain plywood was transformed into broad planks. The start pic inwards this post is how the room hold back afterward installing those planks.
I covered the beautiful flooring amongst newspaper to protect it during the structure of the built-ins.
Leaving the areas for the built-ins open. The bed volition live placed at that spot inwards the middle amongst a bookcase on each side.
Since long ago, I've been on the picket for a desk, my boy requested a desk inwards his room. Finally, similar a calendar month ago, I constitute this 1 for gratis on Craiglist. It was the perfect size, 48", too really sturdy.
Someone gave it a dark pigment treatment, but the hurting was peeling off. So, afterward removing the cut down (it has to sit down even out against the wall)...
I also removed the dark pigment (another of those jobs that takes time). :/
In the hateful time, I built simply about other base of operations for the desk.
I loved the base of operations the desk had but if I wanted to larn out that one, then, I would conduct maintain to replicate the same base of operations pattern on the other bookcase on the other side of the bed, too that was something I didn't desire to do.
The base-less desk was brought upward to the room afterward the pigment was completely removed...
And 1 time on its novel base of operations it looked OK.
For the other side, I also used a desk. I bought this desk long fourth dimension agone for simply about other projection that I never got to tackle. The middle drawer of this desk was used for this projection correct HERE.
The ii towers on this desk were a chip higher than the ones on the desk on the left side of the bed. So, they were trimmed at the bottom.
H5N1 base of operations out of 2 x 6's was also constructed for this correct mitt side built-in. I'm thus glad I waited for the novel bed to arrive, I didn't conduct maintain the bed's dimension too the infinite I was leaving for it (following the newspaper cut-outs), was agency also small!
The base of operations was covered too the ii desk towers were mounted on it. By the way, at start I sentiment nigh edifice a cabinet on this correct mitt side, but I desisted of that sentiment because I didn't desire to build the drawers. The desk solution gives to a greater extent than symmetry to each side of the bed too hey, no drawers for me to build!
For the infinite inwards betwixt the ii desk towers, I built this piffling shelf.
At the moment, my conception is to purpose simply about baskets on that middle shelf too for the tower on the right, to convert that infinite into a push clit out hamper, afterward removing the lower slat, similar inwards the pic below.

The transcend the desk had is really unlike to the 1 on the other side, the border is different, I don't intend I'm going to purpose it.
So far, this is how it looks.
I'm almost create to start out edifice the shelves on top.
But, I'm however deciding simply about elements, like... Should I purpose bead-board? If so, vertical or horizontally?
Maybe evidently bookcases too solely bead-board behind the headboard?
What form of lighting should I use?
How nigh color, what form of paint, knobs, trim...
Well, remain tuned!
