The mantel is unremarkably the start house I decorate for the novel season.
Well, this year, it wasn't.

Contrary to last year's decor when I used lots of red, this yr I'm going for a calmer palette, using lots of natural elements.
If you lot convey followed me for a while, you lot mightiness think I DIY'ed the floor inwards my son's room using plywood. Well, all the left over pieces were brought hither to the mantel. Some of those boards sport a stained brownish coloring on the back.
As the centre piece, I used this beautiful cotton fiber wreath. I dear it! I think this wreath is the perfect blend of rustic together with sophistication.
My boy calls it "the donut". I know, how mean! :)
Some books, a wooden moose together with the alone couple of skis I could notice (no wonder, they're everywhere inwards blogland!), flank i side of the mantel.
On the reverse side, a piddling wood was created.

Some others were hung on the Christmas tree every bit ornaments.
