And what meliorate agency to practise it than amongst a sunburst mirror :)
I couldn't rest away from the Sunburst mirror trend, whatever ways I intend they are timeless ;) So, hither is my direct keep for a rustic type DIY sunburst mirror.
The materials too tools you'll need:
- 1 mirror 7" diameter
- Dry cedar shims (36 shims were used, they are nearly 15" long)
- 1 Gold Sharpie
- Sisal rope ½" x 12
- Decorative cording trim
- 1 - 10" x 10" wooden board
- Dark stain too clear enamel
- Screws too wire to hang it to the wall.
- Hot mucilage gun
- Saw
- Measuring tape
- pneumatic nailer amongst 5/8" nails (optional)
I had most of the materials too tools, the cost for shims too mirror was $6
Directions
36 woods shims were used. 18 of them had to survive cutting 1½" off the thickest part.
Using a gilt Sharpie too a ruler plow over the smaller shims a squeamish detail, if desire.
Give the long shims too wooden board a coat of night stain. The brusk shims become a coat of clear enamel.
Center the mirror on the wooden board, purpose a pencil to grade its area. Begin yesteryear placing the night stained shims all unopen to the circle figure (thick ends on the board). Once you're happy amongst their placement, displace ii nails on each shim, yous tin skip the nails too purpose the hot-glue gun instead.
Continue amongst the brusk or lite shims, centre them inwards betwixt ii of the night shims. Nail them inwards place. Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 flake slice of woods (½" thick), also needs to survive nailed inwards the centre circle to brand the mirror even out amongst the shims.
Before hot gluing the mirror, plow the board upside downwardly too attach the screws too wire.
Finally, sisal rope too decorative cording trim back are hot glued unopen to the mirror to enshroud small-scale gaps too boom holes.
Fall decor too my novel sunburst mirror makes this Fall mantel 1 of my favorites ever.
Influenza A virus subtype H5N1 wooden leaves garland...
And I'm laid upwards for Fall!
